Upon graduation from Cornell University in 1977, Tim embarked upon a career in real estate acquisition, development and management in Ithaca, New York. In the early stages of his career, Tim participated in the acquisition of several multi-family housing communities in Ithaca and other areas of upstate New York. With a focus on “value-added” opportunities, the acquisitions were well located, but had suffered from poor management practices. Each investment was thoroughly renovated, re-branded and re-positioned in their markets as productive assets for over 30 years under consistent ownership.
With his two partners, Tim formed Integrated Acquisition & Development Corp. (IAD) and embarked upon development opportunities in the Ithaca area. The Cornell Business & Technology Park became an area of emphasis, with IAD as the lead developer for this vibrant office park. The firm developed several office buildings; built-to-suit facilities for technology companies, as well as a Medical Campus in the Cornell Business & Technology Park.
Tim’s work extended into the field of student housing with the development of 312 College Avenue, a six story, mid-rise luxury student housing facility adjacent to the Cornell University campus. Shortly thereafter, a similarly luxurious student housing community was developed adjacent to the Ithaca College Campus.
Tim and his group also enjoyed a close working relationship with both Cornell University and Ithaca College. His work with these two institutions of higher learning included built-to-suite office buildings for Cornell, as well as acting as the “Owner’s Representative” for Ithaca College in the development and construction of the new “Athletics & Events Center”. This facility includes a 130,000 sq. ft. Field House which also serves as a convocation and concert facility. The Department of Athletics offices and a 47,000 sq. ft. Aquatics Center with a 50 meter pool are also housed in this impressive facility. An outdoor 82,000 sq. ft. stadium with a synthetic turf athletic field, grandstands and lighting completes this facility.
Tim and his wife Mary Ann relocated to the Charleston area in 2014. Tim and Mary Ann take great pride in the work being performed by their two children. Their daughter Lindsay is the Chief Operating Officer of the Presidium Group in Dallas, Texas. Their son Colin is the founder and owner of CKC Properties, LLC in Charleston, South Carolina.
While enjoying the wonderful people and environment of Charleston, Tim is pleased to have joined the Team at CKC Properties, LLC. Having the good fortune of joining his son and his group in the creation of sensitively implemented, high-quality residential and commercial real estate is a rare and cherished opportunity!
